Dragonmoon sat in the hollowed out Willow that served as the Medical store-room of sorts, her plume of a tail curled around her paws as she shifted herbs back and forth. The events at the recent Gathering bothered her, the Clans seemed to be on the brink of war with all the accusations going around. The creamy she-cat stood by her idea of rogues, though she doubted any of the Leaders would listen to her now...Wait half a moon, you can speak with the other Medicine Cats and StarClan then. she told herself, desperate for the comforting words of StarClan to prove her right...or wrong.
So far, the she-cat had received no dreams from StarClan, so the potential war may not be as doom-ridden as she thought. Still, she worried. The last thing the she-cat wanted was to take care of seriously injured cats, to watch her Clanmates die...Just the thought sent shivers down her spine. Leaf-bare was bad enough with all the sickness and hunger in camp, but a war? Oh, that was the thing of nightmares.
The silver faced she-cat sighed, carefully picking up a pile of borage leaves and shifting them to a spot with more space. She'd have to go collecting herbs and replenish her stock soon, her supply was running low...
Yet, surprisingly, that was her last concern. The other, more pressing one was that of her Apprentice. 'Don't tell me what to do.' the young she-cat's growled words still bothered her mentor. What could she do? It was her job to tell Sagepaw what to do, how to do it and such, otherwise the cat would never become a Medicine Cat. She was sure that something was bothering her Apprentice, and the fact that she had no clue what it was nearly drove the she-cat insane. Fine then, Sagepaw didn't want to be told what to do, then Dragonmoon wouldn't bother telling her what to do. Maybe that'd teach her a lesson...
The creamy she-cat rose to her paws, stretching her stiff muscles. Lightly, she winced at the almost painful stiffness of her back, twisted leg. Laying in the water the night before hadn't done the useless limb any good, and neither had the long trek to and from the Gathering.

Sagepaw strutted in with a leafy plant in her jaws. The herb matched her name well, it was Sage. She walked past Dragonmoon, not acknowledging her existence and giving her the cold shoulder, before setting down the plant. She pushed some of it through onto a mushroom growing on the other side of the willow. Now it was in direct sunlight. Soon the plant would dry and would be ready for use. Looks like she's not doing anything helpful....as usual, thought Sagepaw to herself, annoyed.
She too remembered what she'd said the night before and didn't regret it one bit. Her mentor thought she had control over her. She did, of course, but Sagepaw wouldn't acknowledge that. Instead, she continued to walk coldly on, past Dragonmoon and back out the den.

Dragonmoon watched her Apprentice ignore her, Insolent little wretch. The she-cat's dark blue eyes hardened, why in the name of StarClan had she chosen that cat to be her Apprentice? Getting to her paws, she padded over to the sage, picking it up carefully and putting it where the borage had once sat, closer to the entrance and more open to the sunlight, it'd dry out slower while stored and then take a shorter time to completely dry out when needed. Limping out to where Sagepaw had placed the rest of the sage, shifting bits to be sure none of the plant was being covered by another.
Looking over her shoulder, she smiled softly at the sight of the kits and other apprentices playing about the drooping willow branches. Despite the foreboding Gathering, the camp was at peace as usual, as long as that stayed true the she-cat was sure she had little to worry about. Except her Apprentice.
Sitting down rather gingerly, the silver-faced she-cat decided to take a moment to rest and soak up the sun. Hopefully, some rest and sun would relieve the ache in her leg. If not, she'd have to get some juniper berries and Ragwort leaves, or some Golden rod, to get rid of the aching.

A jet black, bulky cat walked into the willow den. His amber eyes clear and alert for anything. "Dragonmoon?" Wolfhowl walked over to her. He turned his back to her to show his small, but bleeding wound.
"Can you help? I was hunting a rabbit but a hawk saw it first and decided that I would be better food. I showed it though."

Sagepaw took a flying leap down from the long, willowy branches of....the willow. She landed on all four paws lightly with her great balance. She strutted past Dragonmoon once more and snatched up the marigold. "Just chew that up and apply it to the scratch," she instructed, nosing the herbs towards her clanmate.

"Thanks..." Wolfhowl muttered. He could sense the tenseness of the air here. Did he do something? Nah. He probably just showed up at the wrong time.
He lowered his head and sniffed the marigold. Not that he didn't trust the she-cats, but...he had his reasons. The herb's sour and sweet taste covored his tongue. He mad a face then spat the poultrice (SP?) on his wound. It stung for a little bit, but not enough to make him yowl in pain.
Wolfhowl looked at Sagepaw, expecteing her to say something. "I am no medicine cat, but should I stay here? Until the wound closes?"

Dragonmoon pointedly glared at her Apprentice, her plume of a tail flicking in annoyance. Looking at the tom, she offered a little more assistance, "You don't need to stay here, Wolfhowl, but it'd be best for you to rest until it does heal. No hunting or running for awhile, you may make it worse with the exertion."
Getting up, she limped over to the tom, the discomfort from her back leg showing faintly in her blue eyes. Carefully, she checked over his wounds, checking how deep and long they were. Padding past the tom, she grabbed some cobwebs before returning. "We need to stop the bleeding first, once it stops we can take a closer look and make sure that the damage isn't too bad. How badly does it hurt?" As she spoke, she carefully placed the cobwebs over the wound, patting them into place.

"Just stings a bit. Some dirt did get into it. And I don't know how filthy those hawk's talons were." Wolfhowl gave Dragonmoon a sincere look. At least she was concered about the wound. But he didn't like the fact that he would have to rest. He wanted to hunt more today. Well, he would just hunt early tomarrow.

xx Sagepaw crouched down as though she were to attack her mentor. Her eyes blazed fiercely and she bared her teeth. "Everything I do is wrong! Wrong, wrong, wrong!" she yowled at the top of her lungs. NocturnalClan could probably hear her past that roaring waterfall of theirs. "A mentor is supposed to help! Not boss around like she knows everything!" Tears sprang to Sagepaw's eyes.
xx Another growl escaped her teeth like an explosion. She turned around and tore out of camp. She'd run away. She'd go to NocturnalClan and see Sablepaw. Yeah, perhaps Celestialstar would help her stay hidden. If Sablepaw appealed to him first, that might work.

The black tom just watched as Sagepaw ran out. He wondered what had happen to make her mad. He gave Dragonmoon a nod and walked out. No, he wasn't going to search for Sagepaw. She'd come back. She was a medicine apprentice, she just had to come back.

Before Dragonmoon could provide any more assistance to Wolfhowl, her apprentice's outburst made her whirl around. Her silvery ears flattened at the outburst, but not in hostility. Had she upset the young she-cat that much? She truthfully hadn't meant to. Dragonmoon's own mentor had been rough, making her learn from mistakes rather than guiding her through the correct way of doing things. Was she treating her own apprentice in such a harsh way?
"Sagepaw..." she murmured, unable to say anymore as her apprentice turned tail and fled from the camp. She attempted to go after the young cat, though limped only a few steps before she sat down heavily. She couldn't catch the young cat, and she couldn't upset her anymore than she already had. The colourpoint she-cat felt truly terrible.
